How Do You Create a Budget Plan?

Below are some tactics you can follow when devising your own budget plan:

  • Know your income and expenses. Be honest with yourself in finalizing the number for your total income and total expenses. In this stage, you make a comprehensive list of all your expenses for at least a three-month period. It is ill-advised for you to simply base your expenses calculations for the last month as there may be items that you only pay for on a quarterly basis such as your loan, car maintenance, etc. For your income, make a list of all the sources of your income such as your fixed monthly salary, freelance fees, etc.
  • Categorize your expenses. This part is tricky as there can be multiple ways for you to categorize your expenses. The fixed and variable expenses are the most efficient and practical one. The fixed expenses comprise of your monthly rent, electricity bill, water bill, and the minimum amount of money for your daily consumption (this excludes dine-out expenses). The variable expenses are the area wherein you can freely adjust according to your budget. This pertains to expenses on entertainment, clothing, dining out, and other recreational activities.
  • Set your financial goals. What is the reason why you are budgeting? Are you doing it to pay a debt or to go on a vacation? Perhaps you are saving for your post-graduate education? Whatever it is, be specific in your goals. Do the necessary research on your goal and set a precise amount that must be saved in order to reach your financial goal.
  • Create ways to realize your financial goal. The best way to do this is by cutting back costs in your variable expenses as this is the most malleable area.
  • Have self-discipline in implementing your budgeting plan.

Other than budget plans, if you have other needs, you may utilize our useful collections of event feedback forms and event proposal letters.

  • Determine the purpose of the event.

  • Write another list of the specific preparatory steps that must be taken prior to the actual event.
  • For a more effective method of events preparation, create a draft of a formal event program that delineates all the areas that must be addressed to ensure a successful event.
  • Based on your event program draft, jot down all the items that necessarily leads you to expend a certain amount of money.
  • Canvas the prices of each item you have listed.
  • Sum up the projected costs for each item.
  • Compare the projected sum to the budget you have prepared for it.
  • If the projected sum is more than your financial capability, go back to your event proposal and make the necessary adjustment to fit the budget.
  • When you have already finalized the budget for your event, you may then proceed on writing a final event proposal.
