If that’s the case, capitalize on the momentum by bringing these disparate goals into line with the company vision, resulting in a win-win situation for everyone. Consider the labor, timeline, danger, and benefit of including quality if they didn’t. If there was no plan in place, your strategy might be able to help.
- Long-term goals – Setting a genuine, long-term aim that will help the company stand out from the competition is crucial. Because all short-term plans should work towards the long-term vision, it is vital to have a long-term vision. Use people, processes, and technology to create a long-term vision that addresses financial and operational goals, and use-value assessment or data to quantify the operational and financial impact of the planned change.
- Short-term nurture – The first projects chosen after receiving executive sponsorship are critical. They should cultivate the sponsor by displaying immediate ROI and proving statements about the long-term strategy. Early victories aid in the development of momentum and trust, as well as the acquisition of additional resources and the acceleration of progress. There are many elements to consider when choosing a project, but make sure the sponsor can see the project’s success and collect metrics before and after deployment.
- Metrics – One of the top three issues for quality is the ineffective metric measurement, so expect to have trouble assessing current performance. However, this issue must be addressed because a lack of data makes it difficult to effectively communicate progress, putting the endeavor in danger. Prioritize early examples that either have metrics or have data that can be used to compute metrics.
