Perhaps the first thing that comes into your mind when you hear the word report is news. This is something you have already watched a thousand times in the television. It is when a person, an anchor, a reporter, or a correspondent holds a microphone and present the facts about a certain occurrence, like a car crash, or a congress meeting.
You learn a lot of information from reports. Whether it is from the news or from class, or simply an information from a classmate, you get a picture of what is going on around you. Below are Sample Reports you might want to check out.

A report is an informative account about an action, a project, and/or an occasion or event. So if you think that reports are news, you are somehow right. Reports can be used in many situations. They can be for the papers, televisions, or radios; they could be done in class; they could also be used in businesses or companies.
If you are an employee, one of the things that you should be familiar with are performance reports. A performance report is a document or method where an employee’s performance is assessed. Your employers may want to keep track of the progress of your tasks.
You might be wondering why they feel the need to evaluate you and your colleagues; here are some of the reasons why:
- Monitor and measure the workforce. It is natural for businesses to establish standards and targets that are bases for their employees’ performance. Companies must see to it that you and your colleagues have and are meeting the companies’ goals.
- Provide feedback to improve performance. Since your tasks are already monitored, your superiors or managers will come up with responses and comments. This will, of course, cause them to set standards on how performance can be improved and will motivate you to enhance and develop your work.
- Encourage communication. They say that one of the key to success in business is communication. A performance report indicates that your company is eager to see what you have been doing and perhaps hear from you. Plus, it also opens the gates of transparency between the executives, the investors, the employees, and the clients. And business can also be more aware what their customers need.
Reports can be done in an annual or monthly basis. This depends upon the company. We also have other reports you might be interested in such as HR Reports. They are for free as well.

It is very important to track your progress, and not just in your professional performance. If you are a student, I’m sure you are very familiar with report cards, which is where your straight A’s or B’s are written. This will tell you that either you are doing great in a subject or you need to make more efforts to improve.
Reports make you aware and they motivate action. That is why every time there is an earthquake or a flood is reported, because not only do they make people informed, they inspire everybody to respond and get things done. We also have other reports that might want to check out like Risk Assessment Reports.
