What Is a Corporate Fact Sheet?

Fact sheets are documents that are usually one to just a couple pages long. It provides information about your company, and mainly about your products and services and why you provide them. It’s like an elevator pitch, but with a lot less pitching and more informing. Fact sheets contain enough information just to get a gist of what your company is and why should they care about it. Most of the time, fact sheets are used as a marketing material due to its convenience and just general effectiveness, but there are cases where fact sheets are also used inside of the company, as a means of communication between two separate divisions working together. It’s effective because it can provide real-time updates and information regarding a project they may bee working on. Generally we don’t really want to read something so long and boring, especially if its about boring corporate stuff, but fact sheets fixes that for us and gives businesses an option to better reach out to customers and business partners that don’t necessarily take all of their time just reading it. So fact sheets are to pique the interest of the readers and actually make them want to know more about your company and/or its services.

How to Write a Corporate Fact Sheet

Compressing so much information in a couple pages can be really intimidating. You have to know which piece of information is perfect for the fact sheet, which pieces grab attention the most, and so on. Also, you have to pay attention with your presentation making sure that it is clear, easy to follow, understandable, and perfectly sensible. A fact sheet that is poorly written would just lead to more confusion than provide clarity for your readers. To ensure these things, there are some key components that you have to keep in mind and pat attention to. These key components will be discussed in more detail below.

  1. Header
The header will also serve as the title of your fact sheet. Since most of the time it’s the first thing a customer or your audience might read, you have to make sure that it is engaging ang would motivate them to continue reading. It can be the name of your company, name of your product or a service, or maybe it’s something that you came up with. Combine a good title with a good and striking choice of bold fonts, your fact sheet is already off to a good start.
  2.  Company Description
This is one of the major components of your fact sheet, meaning you can try to include as much information as you want. The contents may vary depending on what you want your fact sheet to focus on, if you just want to provide an outline of your company then spend more time developing the company description component, but if you want the focus on your product or a service, then write more regarding your product or service and less on the company description. The company description may include a brief history of your company, your milestones and achievements, a little bit about you and your staff, your company’s current status today, and what products and services you provide.
  3. Vision and Mission statements
This is a pretty straightforward component, you just write your mission and vision values or a tagline or slogan that fits your company’s values. These should be enough to give your readers a gist of your morals and values, so you don’t have to explain what’s behind it. You can reserve that for when they’ve become a loyal patron and would genuinely want to know about it.
  4. Products and services description
Again, it’s up to you whether you want this to be the main content , about your product, or the company description, about your company. Most of the time this is where you’ll be talking about your products and what benefit would the customer gain after purchasing it, aside from the product itself. basically you have to tell them what your product is and what problem does it fix for the customer. It can be like a bit of marketing and advertising but that is slightly the point behind all of this. You want your clients and investors to think that they want your services and they would want to get to know it more.
