Content of an Accounting Agreement
- Details of the client and the service provider – this includes their full name, contact number, email address, and complete address.
- Accounting agreement – the client will make a request and the accountant will agree to perform the requested services.
- Compensation – if the client agrees with the accountant services, there will be an invoice sent to him or her every month. All the services performed will be charged at an hourly rate. Invoices are said to be due upon the acceptance. The accountant is allowed to accept or charge any late fees of 5% if in case that the invoice will not be paid within thirty (30) days.
- Terms – all the accounting service will begin on the start date indicated on the contract and will end on the end date.
- Payment – when the clients consider the provider of the accounting services, they will agree to make payments on the monthly invoices in accordance to the payment terms set by the agreement. The provider, then, will agree to provide an invoice to the client every month intended for the services performed. If the work is still unfinished, the invoice will not be approved in the accounting agreement.
- Confidentiality – it may be quite important for some clients to share specific information. This includes the financial information, knowledge, industry, and other sensitive information. The accountant is obliged to keep the information and shall not have it for personal use.
- Audit – accountants are responsible for maintaining all the business records that is related to the agreement.
- Termination – the accounting services can be terminated anytime. The client should pay all the services performed even up to the date of the termination and the accountant must return the materials and other work product of the client.
