An evaluation is a formal appraisal of actions whether it’s a job performance, athletics, or academic performance and their outcomes. Even administrative positions can be evaluated by employees to gauge performance. In most cases, a company uses evaluations to gauge employee performance during a particular period and this will form the basis on anything from becoming a regular, full-fledged employee to being let go after a period of probation.  Evaluations are also done in academic institutions to cover both teacher and student performances.

Our Evaluation Sample Forms come in a variety of categories that users can use based on several aspects of performance and skills. These can be used on its entirety or can be edited or modified according to each user’s specifications.

An evaluation will have several forms of criteria on performances and skills that will either determine productivity as in the case of workers, or academic performance in the case of students. Assessments could include educational, health, and psychological aspects. These follow several guidelines so as not to be considered intrusive and will focus more on the ability to be more productive and exploring ways to maximize productivity.

For workers, evaluations usually follow several systematic and periodic processes to assess job performance and productivity based on the company’s objectives and established principles. Most aspects of evaluations center on individual strengths and weaknesses as well as accomplishments and potentials for improvement. Depending on the company directive, an evaluation may be held every six months or on a quarterly basis. Some companies with high productivity programs emphasize quality and performance as the most important aspects and in these places, evaluations may be held weekly or even biweekly to terminate low or non-performers.

There are a number of important merits for evaluations leading to positive outcome within an organization, which include:

  • Goal Setting Objectives – The desired performance and goal objectives will be better achieved when individual goals and the organizational goals are being matched together in collaborated appraisal results.
  • Performance Improvement – Evaluations become effective methods to relay performance that corresponds with organizational expectations.
  • Establishment of Training Programs – For an organization to achieve its initiatives, evaluations must have post-appraisal programs of training and development for areas considered weak points for employees.  Evaluations are a way of establishing needs for further training and development of individuals.

Evaluations may be prone to influence by several factors like an individual’s popularity or likability than his or her overall productivity performance. Negative perception of undesirable or unlikable individuals are the biggest stumbling blocks to an evaluation, and, more often than not, most in administrative positions are also guilty of this aspect.

Our Performance Evaluation Forms helps in objective analysis and evaluation of each individual based on the factors being included in the samples. These are all free to download and print or modified based on each organization’s objectives.
