What Is a Wedding Planner?

A wedding planner is an events management professional’s favorite tool as it can be used to list down all of the tasks and activities needed to organize a wedding. There are two types of wedding planners: one pertains to a written document and the other would refer to someone who provides services such as planning a nuptial day. Wedding planners are also very useful when it comes to creating a detailed budget plan, guest lists, and task checklists

How to Write a Wedding Planner?

In this article, we have prepared a list of tips and suggestions that you can use or follow when you are making your own wedding planner. Furthermore, we also have provided answers to frequently asked questions to help you understand the benefits of having a planner better. Prepare your pen and journal or a template and kickstart your tasks using the steps below.

1. List Down Your Wedding Tasks

In the first part of your planner, write down everything you need to prepare for the wedding and the activities you need to organize such as bridal showers, stallion parties, or rehearsal dinners. You also need to write down some priority tasks such as booking your event venue, picking out your guests, checking out catering services, buying a ring, renting or having your bridal entourage gowns customized, as well as visiting several wedding vendors.

2. Set a Timeline

The majority of wedding planners would definitely advise you to prepare the wedding 6 months to one year in advance. This is due to the fact that some of the months in a year are already full of wedding events, and you do not want to fight for your slot with other nuptials. Divide your tasks according to schedule, for example, 6 months before the wedding, you already have made accommodations for your guests. Or, three months before the wedding, you have already contracted your floral supplier or designer to decorate your wedding venue. When you have a timeline, you can be reminded of your priorities.

3. Do Not Be Afraid To Make Changes

Sometimes, no matter how well-planned your wedding day is, there is the slightest possibility that changes are going to happen. If this occurs to you, do not be discouraged or disappointed. Take those changes as an opportunity to make your wedding work no matter the circumstances. Be flexible, and make changes as you go along the planning process. Make updates, too, so you will know what part of your plans needs to be changed or adjusted to accommodate your own needs as well as those involved.

4. Do Not Use Easy-To-Lose Materials

For your planner, never, ever use easy-to-lose materials, such as post-it notes and loose papers. Always pick a material that you can always put in your bag or on top of your dresser. If you are an event organizer, make sure that your journal is labeled well, especially if you have a few of them in your office.

Why should I get a wedding planner?

If you do not have a planner to help you with the organizing of your special day, you will find yourself at loss as to what to do up until the day of your wedding. Planners help you focus on the things you need so you don’t get overwhelmed.

Is getting a wedding planner worth it?

If you do not want to get stressed out before your big day, then it is recommended that you get the services of an experienced wedding planner. They can help you organize all of your tasks and activities without you having to lift a finger since you only have to go with them for visits to vendors and other activities that may require your presence. Of course, make sure that the planner has a good reputation and work ethic to avoid getting scammed.

Can I buy a wedding planner form instead of making it?

If you are not fond of making your planner from scratch especially if you have so many things to do, then it is best that you get a template. There are many available templates that are already preformatted, plus they come with prewritten content that you will only edit to fit your needs. You can either store the planner on your device or print it.

A wedding is a joyous and lovely event, and you want to enjoy every single moment of it with the most important people in your life. Furthermore, you get to experience the many things that come with the preparation of your big day together with your future spouse and family.
