A release agreement is considered as a legal contract that relieves one or more party from any liabilities that they are facing. This is of course agreed by all parties who are involved in the agreement. Release agreements allow disputes to be settled quickly in a professional way, like in a Settlement Agreement.
A Release Agreement is generally enforced in a court of law. It is being settled by considering if the claim is adequate and if releasing it would be reasonable. With our release agreement examples in word and PDF format, you will be able to quickly make a draft of such agreement.

What Is an Agreement and Release?
An agreement is an arrangement between two or more capable parties where all of them agree to a certain something. There are agreements that are legally binding, but not all of them. If you and your friends agree to watch a movie on a Friday night, then that is an agreement that doesn’t bind you to anything legal.
However, if you agree on a business proposal and have affixed your signature on a contract, then that agreement is deemed legal and you will face consequences if you fail to follow them. A release, on the other hand, literally means setting free of something or someone, or allowing someone to escape. An example is releasing someone of their liabilities. The Difference between Settlement and Release Agreement
A settlement is an agreement that aims to resolve a dispute or end a conflict about certain issues. We often hear settlements on the news, like a traffic situation that lead to the victim getting injured, but not life-threatening. A release agreement differs from a settlement in a way that a release agreement serves as a promise that the conflict or issue will not go to court in exchange of money or other forms of compensation. What Is a Release in Legal Terms?
A release in legal terms is a document or a way to terminate an agreement that holds another party liable of something. The person who releases is the realeasor and they release the releasee of any liabilities that they may have. A waiver can also be considered as a legal release. It is often a small piece of paper handed to parents to get permission for field trips.
It states that if the parent signs the consent, they allow their children to join, but the school will not be held liable for any accidents or untoward events. Some rides in amusement parks also hand out waivers for the riders to sign.
A release is also used in the entertainment industry. They are used by by photographers, filmmakers, and music producers when they release an album, a movie, and some photographs to make the consent public and so that the person who gave the consent will not object to what has been released. Since a release is a legal agreement, therefore it should be drafted by the people who have the authority to do so, and that would be the lawyers and solicitors. Please also see Agreement Forms.
