What Is an Employee Review?
An employee review is a form of assessment that is conducted within a company to assess and evaluate the employees’ performance within the company. Employees are subject to a number of evaluations and at the end of the year or during the employee’s service anniversary, they are provided feedback in the form of annual performance reviews which is often the basis for their performance appraisal. The company keeps an employee list and schedule of when evaluation feedback should be provided. After the employee assessment, the findings and comments are then recorded in sample employee review forms or in sample employee feedback forms. The employee’s immediate head then calls the employee to discuss the evalutaion face-to-face.
Companies are not exempted from assessement and evaluations. Business reviews and management reviews are also carried out to help the company point out weaknesses or faults on how the business is run and on how management does things. All these are done to help make improvements within a company.
The Power of Positivity
A positive attitude attracts positive energy. Just like a smile is contageous, a positive attitude also emits positive energy to people who are nearby. Perhaps, the best way to attract positive energy is thinking and talking positively with other people. This practice maakes a lot of difference in the workplace, especially during work employee evaluations. It’s just so easy to utter negative words when evaluting nonperforming employees to force them to work harder. Although providing negative feedback works, it is not a very effective way of doing evaluations. Yes, it drives the employees to work hard, but it’s also the main reason why employees flee.
Providing positive feedback and comments not only inspire employees to work harder, it also encourages them to become the best version of themself as an employee of the company. If they are not pushed in a corner and forced to improve, then employees can bloom on their own and contribute to the achieving the company’s goals. You can find positive comments or statements in performance review examples and use them to construct a positive feedback to inspire employees.
