A Pareto chart is a type of diagram that consists of two different diagrams, these diagrams being a bar chart and a line graph. Why would a Pareto chart need two types of separate diagrams into one chart? It has something to do with the fact that a Pareto chart is typically used as a means of quality control of a company’s production of products; however, it is also used as a means of identifying flaws in a company, be it their production method, their quality, or even the actual state of the factory itself.
Another type of chart that is used as a means of quality control or maintenance checkups of a company would be the Gantt chart where it is used as a means of keeping track of a project’s progress and development.

How to Read a Pareto Chart
Interpreting or reading a Pareto chart can actually be quite simple. Using a Pareto chart example, you can easily interpret the Pareto chart. Interpreting a Pareto chart starts with interpreting the variables. The Pareto chart has three sides and several data inside the chart, the three sides of a Pareto chart would be the count (left side of the chart), the percentages (right side of the chart), and the problems (base of the chart).
Some sample Pareto charts give you some form of descriptions about the different parts of the Pareto chart.
How to Make a Pareto Chart
Making a Pareto chart can be simpler if you have a Pareto chart template to use as a framework. However, you will still need a few other things if you are going to make a Pareto chart, these being:
- Gather and list down the different problems present.
- Identify which problem you wish to deal with first.
- Gather your data and arrange them from greatest to least value.
- Now input the data according to the three sides of a Pareto chart would be the count (left side of the chart), the percentages (right side of the chart) and the problems (base of the chart).
- Plot out the numerals and start making the graph.
This site doesn’t only have Pareto charts available, but we also have some sample chore charts and charts for all of your chart needs.
